12/13 - 12/14Opening event for the premier circuit in the Colorado Ski Country Series, this race, held on the Hughes trail, features the best regional racers ages 15 and older and the top collegiate skiers in the West. This race always attracts a field of athletes from around the nation and is a qualifier to the U.S. Alpine Championships. 12/17 - 12/18This regional qualifier draws the most elite disabled skiers in North America to compete for a position on the United States Disabled Ski Team on their road to the Olympic Games in Whistler 2010. Competitors race in giant slalom and two super-G events. The race is unique in that it invites many regional able-bodied ski teams to compete as well. Steamboat: New Year's Eve Tourchlight Parade & Fireworks More Info »
12/31The Steamboat Ski & Snowboard School treats tourists and locals to spectacular on-snow parades down the mountain lit only by torches. The parades are in celebration of a holiday or local event throughout the season. In conjunction with the torchlight parades, a fireworks display will illuminate the sky providing a perfect ending to the evening. Again this year, the young ones get a chance to ski down the mountain and join in the excitement as a special finale to the Desperados Ski Week program. The Desperados Torchlight Parades are December 27th and February 21st. |
