Specifically designed to meet the needs of beginner-level skiers and snowboarders, Beginner's Magic utilizes a teaching method that promotes peak performance, confidence and mountain awareness. Our fully trained pros will familiarize you with the use and feel of the specialized beginner equipment and how it works with the snow surface. As you progress, you will learn how to use the chairlift and will access more and more of the mountain. Your progress will astonish you… it's guaranteed.
The Beginner's Magic package includes instruction, lift ticket and specialized equipment rental voucher (over $250 per day if purchased separately)! Extensions are encouraged and are available through level 4. Lessons are available every day at Snowmass and Buttermilk. Arrive at the meeting place at 9:45 a.m. with your lift ticket, lesson ticket and equipment.

First-Timers Package:

A full day lesson that is the best introduction to skiing or snowboarding. For First-Timers only! This flagship learn-to package lays a great foundation of the skills you will need to develop to move towards becoming an effective intermediate skier or snowboarder.

Adult First-Timer Lessons (ages 13 & up):

- First-Timers only (level red)
- Ski or Snowboard
- Includes a 4 hour group lesson, rental equipment and a Little Hawk Mountain lift ticket
- Lesson meets at 9:45am and starts promptly at 10:00pm. Break at noon for lunch (not included in the package). Lesson continues again at 1:00pm (meet at 12:45pm) and ends at 3:00pm.

Ski Cooper will not only teach you to ski and board but will teach you the fundamentals that are so important as to how fast you progress and how much fun you will have. We've been teaching skiing and boarding for years. As a matter of fact, many our instructors have nearly 25 years of teaching experience. We've moved over 250,000 yards of dirt to re-shape our base area to enhance the beginner experience. We made the terrain better for first time and learning skiers/riders by diverting fast skiers and riders, making the pitch consistent, and creating flatter terrain.

Burton Learn to Ride

Learning to snowboard is easy and fun, especially with Steamboat's signature Burton Learn-to-Ride program, which incorporates special equipment with proven teaching methods. Three full days of instruction with the same instructor, gear rental with In-Room fitting and lift tickets are all included. The program runs daily from 10am to 3pm. Wolf Creek Ski Area offers a 1st Day Beginner Ski & Snowboard Package for new skiers and boarders. This combination package includes a four hour group lesson and a lift ticket to the Nova Chairlift priced at $52.00 for skiers and $62.00 for boarders.

A 2nd Day Beginner Package for both skiers and snowboarders is a follow-up to the 1st Day and makes it even easier to plan your second day of skiing or boarding. A two-hour morning lesson plus a lift ticket for the Nova and Raven Chairlifts is included for $63.00 for skiers and $73.00 for boarders. This 2nd Day Skier/Boarder Ticket is designed for anyone who is ready to ski/board more of the mountain but wants to have a review of the previous day.

The Wolf Pup Ski Program

For children 5 - 8 years old, is an on the snow program that teaches the fun of skiing for beginner through intermediate levels. A Full Day of Wolf Pups includes four hours of lessons, lift ticket, lunch and a snack for $60.00. A Half Day of Wolf Pups includes two hours of lessons, morning or afternoon, lift ticket and snacks for $50.00. Wolf Pup's meet in the Wolf Pup Building which has easy access to the Magic Carpet, Nova Lift, lessons, rentals, lunch, snacks and lots of fun! Wolf Pup lessons are available everyday, no reservations needed.

Special for Beginners:

Every morning the Ski School employees are stationed outside the Ticket Office where the shuttle drop off is located to greet and orientate new skiers and boarders to the mountain, help carry equipment and answer any questions. Rental Shop employees in the both the Main Rental Shop and Boarder Dome give extra attention to beginners to make sure ski and board boots are fit properly and comfortably for a positive first time equipment experience.
