Best Known For

There’s plenty new at Purgatory, but the reasons people love to come here haven’t changed. Purgatory is located just 25 miles north of the historic mining town of Durango, Colorado. Named one of “America’s Best Small Towns” by Outside magazine, Durango offers a wide array of shopping, dining and recreational opportunities, including more restaurants per capita than San Francisco. A spectacular location, friendly staff, and some of the best ski weather in America make Purgatory the perfect place for a memorable winter vacation.

This Just In

Spring is just around the corner, and with more than 200 inches of snow so far this season, Purgatory is pleased to announce our extended spring operating schedule! Through Sunday, March 28, we will be open seven days a week during our standard operating hours of 9 am – 4 pm. But with some of the best snow conditions we’ve had in years, we are excited to offer you the opportunity to ski as late into the season as possible! Starting on Friday, April 2, and continuing through the month of April (weather-permitting), Purgatory will reopen for Friday through Sunday operations from 10 am – 5 pm. The one-hour shift in our operating hours will allow more time for the morning snow to soften and enable you to enjoy the extended daylight hours of daylight saving time in what we hope will be our longest season ever! Great deals will be available soon on April “Stay and Ski” packages, with two days of lift tickets and two nights of slopeside lodging from just $69 per person, per night. For the latest lodging offers, plus updates on snow conditions, trails and ticket prices, please visit our web site at www.durangomountainresort.com.
