Crested Butte, Colorado is a historic town offering a wonderfully flavorful mix of friendly people, charming buildings and the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Head to downtown Crested Butte and wander historic Elk Avenue to find a great eating or drinking establishment, or stay near the mountain for one of the many great patios at the base area. The CSCUSA 45th Annual Meeting will take place at the Mountaineer Square Conference Center. Mountaineer Square is centrally located in the heart of the base area - just steps from the ski lifts - near shopping, restaurants and the new transit center where you can take the free shuttle bus three miles to the authentic, western town of Crested Butte.



A special rate for Annual Meeting attendees, starting at $95/night, has been arranged at The Grand Lodge located in Mountaineer Square. The Grand Lodge offers a combination of spacious rooms and suites (all with kitchenettes). Exceptional amenities include a year-round indoor/outdoor heated pool, restaurant/bar, spa, and fitness room.

Getting to the Annual Meeting

Located near the center of the state, Crested Butte is easy to get to no matter where you're coming from. And the drive through the mountains is extraordinary!
Drive time from Denver is 4 hours, and a little under 4 hours from Colorado Springs.

Flying into the Annual Meeting is even an option for those of you on a tight schedule!

Driving Directions

From Denver:

From Denver International Airport, take interstate 70 west, exit to highway 470 west, highway 285 south to Fairplay then Poncha Springs, highway 50 west to Gunnison, then highway 135 north into Crested Butte.

From Colorado Springs:

Take highway 24 west to highway 285, highway 285 south to Poncha Springs, highway 50 west to Gunnison, then highway 135 north into Crested Butte.

From Montrose:

Take highway 50 east to Gunnison, then highway 135 north into Crested Butte.

From Texas And Oklahoma:

Take interstate 25 north through Trinidad to Walsenburg, highway 160 west to Alamosa, highway 285 north to Saguache, highway 114 north to highway 50, highway 50 west to Gunnison, then highway 135 north into Crested Butte.

From Arizona - Phoenix:

Take interstate 17 to Flagstaff, north on highway 89, highway 160 to Cortez, north on highway 145, highway 62 to Ridgway, highway 550 north to Montrose, highway 50 east to Gunnison, then highway 135 north into Crested Butte.

From California And Southern Nevada - Los Angeles - Las Vegas:

Take interstate 15 to Las Vegas, interstate 70 to Grand Junction, highway 50 east to Montrose and on to Gunnison, then highway 135 north into Crested Butte.

From Northern California And Utah - San Francisco - Salt Lake City:

Take interstate 80 to Salt Lake City, interstate 15 via highway 6 and interstate 70 to Grand Junction, highway 50 east to Gunnison, then highway 135 north into Crested Butte.

From New Mexico - Santa Fe - Albuquerque - Taos:

From highway 285, take highway 160 west to Alamosa, highway 285 north to Saguache, highway 114 north to highway 50, highway 50 west to Gunnison, then highway 135 north into Crested Butte.

Flying to Crested Butte, Colorado

Gunnison / Crested Butte Airport

United Airlines offers jet service from Denver to Gunnison / Crested Butte Airport (GUC). In addition, United Express provides up to 2 daily connections via Denver to Gunnison / Crested Butte year-round. American Airlines provides seasonal daily non-stop 757 jet service from Dallas to Gunnison / Crested Butte.

Montrose Regional Airport (Alternate Gateway)

Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) is another great option that offers additional non-stop jet service to the area on United Airlines, Continental Airlines, and Delta Airlines. United Express offers up to six connections per day via Denver to Montrose. Montrose is an easy one and a half hour scenic ground transfer to Crested Butte.

Ground Transportation

Rental Cars and the Alpine Express Shuttle are available at the Gunnison / Crested Butte Airport and the Montrose Regional Airport.

The Free Town Shuttle and condo loop service run between the two towns of Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte every 15 minutes and the condo loop departs from the new Transit Center throughout the day.
